Evie is a Baroque Cellist, Choral Artist, and Conductor based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She holds degrees from Westminster University (Bachelor of Arts in Music) and the University of Redlands (Master of Music in Vocal Chamber Music), and performs frequently with ensembles across the Wasatch Front including Utopia Early Music, Opera Contempo, NEXT Ensemble, Westminster University, Ballet West, Utah Symphony, Utah Opera, American West Symphony Chorus, American West Chamber Singers, and the Cathedral Church of St. Mark's.

 

In October 2024 Evie sang the world premier of "Bleeding", a work for Baritone Solo, Soprano Recorder, and Piano by Jared Oaks at the Utah Queer Film Festival. In 2022 she conducted a double bill of Menotti's The Telephone and Monteverdi's Il Combattimento, the second of which was the first work with live orchestra to be performed at the Great Salt Lake Fringe Fest. 

In 2025 Evie will be conducting the world premier of Butch Cassidy Hops a Train, an opera in one act by Monica Hymas, in a double bill performance with Oedipus Tex, a dramatic oratorio by P.D.Q. Bach with Opera Contempo. 

When she is not on stage or in the practice room Evie enjoys studying Medieval Swordsmanship with True Edge Academy of Swordsmanship, spending time with her partner Matthew and their two cats Dobby and Percy, and writing and thinking about music, politics, and the world - which can be read on her Substack at eviemariemusic.substack.com.
